North Bank Road near Bullards Bridge

North Bank Road near Bullards Bridge

North Bank Road is a great way to see much of the "north" side of the Coquille River between Bandon and Coquille.

Accessed from the west, right after crossing Bullards Bridge on Hwy 101, the road heads eastward in a north/south trajectory before heading northeast to connect with Hwy 42 just a couple of miles east of Coquille.

It's a relatively flat road that rolls along easily with no real climb until the rise at the east end. Some of the road is in poor condition except near Hwy 101 and between East Beaver Hill Road and Hwy 42 at the east end.

On moto, it's not a "quick" way to make time between Hwy 42 and Bandon as it adds about 5 miles (or more) to the trip, but it's a lot of fun and certainly offers great scenes. Much of the road was repaved in late 2011, making the road fine for all kinds of bikes and motos. There's only a few short sections of poor older pavement and a few corners with some new roadside gravel strewn onto the road. Be sure to slow down near houses and barns.

From Hwy 42 heading west the road is a good connector to Hwy 101 by taking East Beaver Hill Road. From the west (Hwy 101) then taking Randolph Road or East Beaver Hill Road back west to Hwy 101 allows for a nice loop or connecting to other roads to the west, north, or south.
