This route offers one of the better paved north/south side roads from North Bend / Coos Bay / Charleston down to Bandon.
This route comprises several roads as seen in the map. Note that the northern end of Seven Devils Road (which intersects with Beaver Hill Road) is gravel from about the Seven Devils Wayside (park) all the way to that intersection with Beaver Hill Road. This route basically diverts around that gravel section.
The pavement is not as good at the northern end as on the southern end except some chip seal was laid in late 2011 on parts of the southern end.
The route has a couple of the more demanding climbs in the area, however when up on the top of the ridge the roads is rolling and twisty. The descent down Whiskey Run Road is fun, but the pavement is a bit rougher than Beaver Hill Road.
Beach access from Whisky Run Road can be found all the way down Whiskey Run (continuing east from the intersection with Seven Devils Road). Beach Access is also available at the Seven Devils Wayside (off of Seven Devils Road, a few miles north of the intersection of Whiskey Run Road and Seven Devils Road.
The northern end of Seven Devils Road also offers access to Sunset Bay and Cape Arago state parks (via Cape Arago Hwy), and to the South Slough Estuary along the way. Lately, there have been large dump trucks at times from Oregon Resources (mining) on the south end of Beaver Hill Road.
Near the southern end (before Seven Devils Road intersects with Hwy 101), one can go east on Randolph Road to North Bank Road, or west at Randolph Road to Round Lake Road in Bandon Dunes.
