Powers Hwy - clost to Hwy 42

Powers Highway - also shows on maps as Hwy 542. This road is just east of Myrtle Point on Hwy 42 and heads south to Powers from Hwy 42.

If you're familiar with Hwy 36 in Northern California from Fortuna to Red Bluff, then you'll love this road. It's long enough and challenging enough to be a real kick, with some great long sweepers, decreasing radius, and off-camber fall-away turns. Great fun! This was also part of the 2011 Cycle Oregon tour route.

No large climbs though like found on Hwy 36 through the Trinity Alps, this road mainly follows along a river. See also Powers to Riddle or Glendale, or Powers to Gold Beach for roads and routes southward.
